About Me

Eden Davisson, LCSW

My interest in social work began as a volunteer with Hospice Austin in 2000, where I gave respite care to families until 2007. I received my Bachelor of Science in Social work in 2005 from St. Edwards University and completed my undergraduate internship with Texas Partnership for End-of-Life Care, where I helped share information with medical professionals and families about advanced directives and pain management.

In 2007 I completed my Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas – Austin. During my social work education, I began studying evidence-based practice interventions for use with men and women who have been incarcerated. I volunteered with the Texas Inmate Family Association as a facilitator for the Storybook Project at a local jail for more than three years, and went on to work with individuals in the criminal justice system and as an advocate for criminal justice reform.

I believe that when given tools and acceptance, people can have access to new levels of satisfaction with themselves and others and cause transformation in their families and communities. I use a wide variety of modalities that vary based on my assessment of a person's needs, values, and emotional processing experiences. Among other issues, I help clients with grief and loss resolution, anxiety, depression, trauma, communication training (assertive communication enhancement), and in supporting clients whose lives have been affected by mild chemical dependence to achieve a new freedom from addiction. In couples work I use the Psychobiological Approach to Couple's Therapy (PACT).

Whatever stage you are at in your life, I am willing to talk with you on the phone in a 30-minute introductory conversation to discuss the possibility of working together.
